Scrapy Land Challenge #28

Hello everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Scrapy Land! This time the theme is Embossing (heat or dry). I chose dry embossing for this inspiration project. A very dear blog friend of mine had a birthday recently, so I created this card in honor of her birthday and inspiration for this challenge:

I used Spellbinders Shady Allure embossing folder to create the background.

Then I used Spellbinders Victorian Medallion 2 to die cut my sentiment.

I wanted to keep it simple and elegant, so I only added some seam binding crinkled ribbon and vintage medallion to embellish the bow...I created a box that card would be place in, instead of an envelope, that is kinda "my thing" majority of my cards come in a keepsake box, seems that recipients find that even more special...

I hope you stop by the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog for more inspiration from my team mates and decide to join our challenge :)

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...

Hello everyone,

I am thrilled to announce my Guest Designer assignment with Scrapy Land that will go on next three months! This week's challenge theme is Anything goes using dies that Scrapy Land carries.
Here is what I created:

I used Spellbinders Rose Creation Die to make my flowers and foliage.

The shabby bow was made with hand died seam binding ribbon. I used Peacock Feather DI to die it...

The flowers were all shaped and layered to give this card extra dimension...

I used Memory Box Catalina Wreath die to create this triple flower wreath. I added chitchat stickers as my sentiment.

Anything But Cute Mixed Media Challenge 31 Days of Halloween

Hello everyone,

It is time for a new challenge over at Anything But Cute Mixed Media Challenge Blog and Sara Emily is our host this month with 31 Days of Halloween theme.

If you love Halloween like I do, it’s more than just one day out of the year, it’s a season! For this challenge I would like you to make a mixed media card or project for Halloween. It can be spooky or not, but you MUST include the number “31” somewhere in your project. We can’t wait to see the creative ways you’ll be incorporating this number in your mixed media piece!

Here is my elegant Gothic style Halloween card:

I took a few pictures of the process at the beginning and then got carried away and forgot to take pictures of the rest of the process :(

To create that black antique frame I cut out 8 frames out of a 110 lb heavy card stock using my Cricut machine and Happy Hauntings cartridge. I did the same with #31. I glued everything together to create this dimensional frame and my focal point "31".

I used liquid pearls to create this ornate look to the frame. Once that was dry I covered the frame with black paint, when that was dry I covered everything with Deco Art One Step Crackle and then with red paint.

This is what the background panel looked at the beginning of the process. I treated it with gesso, Deco Art One Step Crackle and various distress inks to get this warn out rustic look.

After I glued all the pieces to create #31 I painted it with red acrylic paint and then covered it with UTEE. The background is supposed to symbolize broken old mirror. The technique for this process can be found on Pamellia's blog.

And of course I had to add a fancy bow to my card...

I hope you will visit Anything But Cute and check out the rest of the projects that our DT created for this challenge and decide to join in on fun!

A Shabby Chic Birthday Card with Lace

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post of a card I made for my next door neighbor and a very good friend:

I used two layers of patterned paper for my base, distressed the edges on both and printed a computer generated sentiment.

I used a doily die cut, handmade rolled flowers, brand die cuts and some lace to create this shabby design.

One more look at the finished card...

I would like to enter this card into following challenges:
